Notes on Laertes
Laertes gets his cunning plan on this week. You killed his father. Prepare to die.
From the beginning of the Hamlet cartoons, I wanted Laertes to look like a reverse of the prince, blonde and dressed in white, but equally spindly and quiffy. It’s taken him a while to make his first proper appearance, although his impaled and poisoned corpse did make a cameo a while back.
Hamlet’s supporting cast is filling out nicely, but I really need to get Ophelia and Gertrude into the mix at some point. Zounds Elsinore is even more blokey than Shakespeare’s original – and the original is pretty damn blokey…
