  1. Ah, the Hamlet and Laertes scene. Didn’t he change the names in that scene to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Richard Burbage and Company decided to leave it out Seems the scene with R & G was in the First Quarto. In Quarto Two and Two Thirds, they took it out, thinking it was inappropriate. As Richard B. said at the time, “Billy ain’t that kind of guy.” Well, some copies of the First Folio have it in and some don’t. But the good news is that Tom Stoppard was going to put it in his R & G play. But his producer wouldn’t let him. He said, “My gosh, Tommy, for all that’s Shakespeare, rewrite that scene.” Tom Stoppard was extremely disappointed. Rightly so. But he followed orders. So it’s out there. You just have to find the right First Folio.
